I have been shooting film for almost 7 years now and have never been into selling prints of my work, although I do love my work dearly. I attempted to set up a print shop once online but it felt so automated, cold, and not personalized in the least bit. My love for film comes mainly from the fact that the work itself is so tangible, so meticulous (well, sometimes lol). The online print shop just felt so...not that.
Around 2024, my shooting and traveling slowed a bit. I was struggling with my mental health, a horrible job and boss, while also simultaneously planning a wedding. There was so little time to do some of my favorite things and so I reverted a bit to some of the other hobbies, mainly, *~crafting~*. Crafting felt so easy, carefree, and doable, especially while dealing with a lot of high stress. While getting back into crafting, I stumbled upon a few new hobbies: sign painting, junk journaling, and my most recent favorite - snail mail clubs! Thus the idea of my 35mm mail club emerged. :)
For those who don't know what a snail mail club is, it is simply a community or subscription service focused on traditional, physical mail, where members receive curated packages of letters, postcards, stickers, art prints, etc. to encourage personal connection and creativity. You pay a small monthly fee in support of your favorite artist (or in this case, photographer 😉) in exchange for one of a kind goodies! It is, in my opinion, such a fun way to support the arts and a great way to slow down and enjoy something tangible and made with love and attention to detail.
So, if you are a lover of film photography, post cards, national parks, the great outdoors, stickers, etc., etc. please consider becoming a member! All information on my mail club can be found on my patreon.
